Equestrian
Fitness Program
As
a former elite level gymnastics coach, Tara Boone understands the benefits
of strong physical fitness and nutrition for an athlete.
One of the greatest things the SLEC Physical Training Program can do
for young equestrians is teach them about active and healthy lifestyles
as young athletes.
By
focusing on the four fundamentals (cardiovascular excercise, strength
training, flexibility and nutrition), the SLEC Physical Training Program
is a great way for young equestrians to learn about the importance of
a well-balanced diet coupled with their equestrian training.
As a parent, you may think of equestrian sports as difficult and only
focusing on the riding of the horse and the horses health. While this
is true, SLEC Physical Training Program enhances the young riders ability
to be able to handle the horse more effectively, fall with safety and
keep a fit body which compliments the mental and physical demands of
competition.
The
fundamentals they young riders learn through this program will give
them the tools needed to compete in any sport they may choose.
SLEC is proud to be one of the first equestrian programs in the state
to offer a physical training program to it's athletes.
