Training
South Lake Farm offers training programs tailored to
fit each horse and rider's individual needs. We use a combination training
rides, lessons, physical fitness classes, lunging, ground work exercises,
proper feed, supplements and turnout regimens to ensure both our horses
and riders are physically prepared for the show ring.
Showing
We compete at "C" and "A" level shows. We can take
riders from Walk/Trot all the way to Pony Finals and WEF.
Boarding
Feed:
We feed twice daily; hay and fresh water is always available to all
horses. Should your horse require a mid-day meal, we can provide that
as well. We feed a 12% pellet, 10% sweet feed and Beet pulp provided
by Southern States. We can work with you to tailor a feed schedule
that will have your horse at its best! Any supplements must be supplied
by owners, and will be added to the feed on schedule at no charge.
Veterinary
care: Boarders are added to SouthLake’s routine veterinarian
schedule. All services provided by veterinarian, chiropractor or massage
therapists are the owner’s responsibility.
A Boarder may elect to handle his/her own veterinarian care, however,
it is requested that the boarder keep records current with the office
Farrier:
Our farrier is highly experienced; he offers hot shoes which ensure
a proper and custom fit. Our farrier also offers quality natural trims.
A Boarder may elect to handle his/her own farrier care, however, it
is requested that the office know the schedule of the farrier visit
and that the boarder be present, otherwise, there will be a holding
fee.
Insurance:
SouthLake Farm recommends you insure your horse for mortality, loss
of use, major medical and liability coverage whenever possible. Insurance
is not a requirement, but be aware that SouthLake is not responsible
for any illness or other loss of boarded horses.
